Repair Risks
Fixing electronic devices comes with its uncertainties. There's a chance that your device might not be salvageable or could suffer further damage during the repair process, making it unusable. Over time, the components on circuit boards degrade, and they can suddenly malfunction, especially in devices affected by liquid damage, where components may short circuit, oxidize, corrode, or rust.
Repairs involving devices with screens attached by adhesive, like iPads, require delicacy as we pry the screen to access internal components. Although we're highly skilled and the risk is minimal, there's still a possibility of the screen cracking or breaking during this process.
For Apple devices with Touch ID or Face ID, there's a rare chance that these features may malfunction during repair, rendering them unusable, depending on the condition of the device.
Additionally, integrated GPUs in laptops and all-in-one computers, particularly in older models like the 2011 MacBook/iMac, can fail unexpectedly. This risk extends to devices from other brands such as HP, Dell, and Toshiba, which may have known GPU issues regardless of the make or model year.
Estimates
While we aim to provide comprehensive estimates, it's often challenging to identify every issue until we start working on your device. Therefore, our estimates may evolve as we proceed with the servicing. If our technicians need to adjust the estimate, we'll inform you promptly, and no further work will be carried out without your approval. The original estimate remains valid within the scope of the services initially discussed, although we may advise you if the original service becomes unnecessary or unlikely to resolve the issue.
It's the customer's responsibility to request an estimate before proceeding with repairs. By submitting your device to us, we assume that you've opted for repair and have already sought an estimate. Payment for repairs under $200 is accepted via major credit and debit cards. For amounts exceeding $200, alternative payment methods like checks, money orders, or wire transfers may be required for security purposes. Payment is due within 30 days of invoice issuance, and failure to pay within this period may result in device recycling.
Limited Shop Warranty
We stand behind our repairs with a 60-day warranty. If any issue covered by the original work order recurs within this period, we'll rectify it at no extra cost. However, the warranty does not extend to new issues unrelated to the original repair, issues caused by user negligence, or damages resulting from hardware or software modifications.
Warranty Exclusions
Our warranty does not cover services using non-authorized parts, software-related issues, new symptoms unrelated to the original repair, or damages resulting from user mishandling. Any physical tampering or damage to the device during the warranty period will void the warranty.
Warranty Repairs
Should your device malfunction within 60 days after repair, we'll fix it again at no additional charge, provided the issue is related to the original repair. Refunds are issued only if we're unable to fix the device after reattempting the repair, minus the repair attempt fee and return shipping costs.
Estimate and Repair Time
While we strive for swift repairs, various factors may influence the repair duration, and we cannot guarantee specific service times. Our estimates are based on previous experiences and are not binding commitments.
Replacement Parts Procedure
If a repair necessitates replacement parts, we'll inform you beforehand and provide details on the part, associated costs, and estimated arrival time. We primarily use parts sourced by us to ensure quality and compatibility. Any parts provided by the customer are used at their own risk, and we assume no liability for their functionality or fit.
Repair Attempt Fee
For devices requiring intricate repairs or data recovery, a repair attempt fee may apply. This fee covers the time spent on the unsuccessful repair attempt.
Shipping Policy
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping instructions, and failure to request insurance absolves us of liability for shipping damages. We recommend using original packaging to minimize the risk of damage during transit. Orders must meet or exceed the shipping amount, or they may be subject to cancellation.
Data
While we take precautions to preserve your data, we cannot guarantee its safety. It's advisable to back up important files before servicing your device. We may offer data backup services at an additional cost, but we cannot predict every outcome due to the complex nature of electronic devices.
Pickup Time Limit and Storage
Devices left unclaimed for more than 60 days may be considered abandoned, and we reserve the right to sell or recycle them to recover costs. Storage beyond the initial 60-day period may incur additional charges. It's crucial to retrieve your equipment promptly or arrange storage with us to avoid any inconvenience.
